Over the years we have faced and overcome many unique problems for our Aga range cooker customers. Maybe a flu needed a custom bracket because the rear wall was crumbling, some very tall folk want super high plinths to make cooking more comfortable! As the team grew these sorts of problems cropped up more frequently and our ad-hoc solutions needed to become easier to manage!
It was at this point we created our fabrication department. I mentioned Marcus, who leads this team, in a recent post and it got an overwhelming response! It seems you like the fact that we have these capabilities, real skills employed to create pieces that will last and solve practical problems. The fabrication team is 4 strong and the workshop is run by Neil (on the left), a veteran engineer and one of the finest and highly qualified welders working anywhere today. Based in their own building and equipped with the latest technology we had created some really quite unique capabilities.
Recently though, with the workshop humming along smoothly, Marcus proposed that we be a little more ambitious. His prior experience was in bespoke garden gates and architectural ironwork and without really noticing we'd created a workshop capable of almost anything. Could our work in kitchens be complemented by work in the garden?
The answer of course is yes! We've created Blake & Bull Garden and needless to say are already inundated with projects. We are developing a range of garden products, from planters to trellis, and already installing custom gates and railings across the country.
We've added a few bits of equipment; built some massive new work benches and are already creating half ton gates for a development in Walton-on-Thames in Surrey. Everything we create is a Blake & Bull 'Original' and as with our work on Aga range cookers we control the whole process. Not only do we make everything by hand, we install it ourselves too. The biggest vehicle we've ever bought is arriving next week to handle the size of some of these projects!
All done with the same attention to detail. All done with the same quiet professionalism and all done with a smile. The team continues to grow, the attitude remains unchanged. Good work by good people. Perhaps we can help with gates, railings, hand rails or (soon!) garden planters and trellis!
