"The saving in electricity is massive using the Electrikit system and has meant the difference between keeping and getting rid of the AGA because of cost." J.C, Trustpilot, 21st April 2023

Electrickit Aga Electric Conversion

Electrickit, also known by us as Electrikit because its easier to say!, is the original independent multi element Aga conversion system. Now available in two flavours, Original and Classic. Original is a slightly lower power system for limited electricity supplies, in most cases we install the Classic, upgraded, system.

Electrickit uses elements next to the oven bodies and beneath the hotplates to provide heat to only where it is needed for maximum efficiency.

The top oven is controlled via a digital display that sets target temperature and also shows the current air temperature in the ovens. The lower oven is then always around 60 degrees centigrade cooler than the top unless 'boosted'. Using the boost function, controlled via a simple 1-8 dial, means you can have two roasting ovens when required. The warming cupboard on 4 or 5 oven cookers is controlled via a similar 1-8 dial for a max temperature, in the top oven, of 130 degrees centigrade.

Our warranty on every Electrickit system is for up to 5 years and our unique care plans can extend your cover indefinitely. We'd like you to shop with us for decades, you are more important to us than any single Aga conversion. It's why every job must be perfect.

Electrickit Aga cooker heat up times

Every customer uses their converted Aga cooker differently. The cheapest way to run them is to turn on when needed, and off when you are done. Most won't do this, see here for more information on running costs, but its useful information.

Electrickit Classic is the latest system. From cold the hotplates take 19 minutes to maximum temperature, the ovens take 60 minutes. Both are usable long before this, the hotplates are useful after as little as 10 minutes.

Electrickit Original is slower. From cold the hotplates take 30 minutes to maximum temperature, the ovens take 1 hour 50 minutes. Both are again usable long before this, the hotplates are useful after as little as 15 minutes.

How much does converting to Electrickit cost?

Electrickit Induction Hob

Replacing the left hand hotplate an induction hob is available as an upgrade to both Electrickit systems. They can be specified in 1.6kWh or 3kWh versions and are a very useful addition, particularly in the summer!

"...four years on we haven’t had a single problem.”

Interiors Author Ros Byam-Shaw and her Electrickit Aga cooker

“I didn’t want to risk anything going wrong with [my Aga cooker] by fiddling around. And then I came across Blake & Bull and read lots of great reviews about the conversion service they were offering. I felt like I had found the right people at the right time.”

“When it was put back together it looked as it always had and its performance was very similar. All the things I liked about it stayed the same. The only slight change was the heat distribution which took a little while to get used to. Thankfully, the monthly energy cost went right down and four years on we haven’t had a single problem.”

"...we still have a warm kitchen, but also able to control its output at the touch of the knob, and are delighted with the results." Matthew Bullock, Trustpilot, 9th June 2023

Warmth to the room

Electrickit Aga cookers give as much heat, or as little, as you'd like into your kitchen.

Blake & Bull founder Mattthew's Electrickit cooker normally goes off after supper but cools slowly keeping the kitchen warm into the morning AND drying a load of washing. It goes back on when he makes his morning coffee and keeps the ground floor of the house warm all day. A cold conventional cooker it is not!
