Original Aga Vintage Copper Fittings - Restored

What a joy this was! Peter visited Joan in her picturesque west country farmstead to fit a fully restored & re-enamelled hob section to this sweet Pre'74 Aga range cooker, whilst working carefully to retain and renew the original copper fittings.

Copper is seen as a new finish for Aga range cooker metal work, with Dita Von Teese making a splash with her copper and British Racing Green one in the states and now the Taylor Howes & Aga Uk collaboration.

But it has roots before this, we have seen a few Pre'74 black & copper Aga range cookers. The owners having different stories as to the reason for the copper finish.

One customer cited a Dunhill & Aga UK collaboration, another a Royal Celebration inspiring a limited run of this gorgeous combination. We cannot find any information in the archives to support these stories, both are rather good!

Joan's hob section has sustained grazing to the enamel. This is when the tiny undulations and peaks in the vitreous enamel surface catch on pans as they are moved across the surface, slowly it wears down.

'Many thanks for an excellent job. Peter arrived on time, ..He could not have been more helpful or efficient. It was a pleasure to meet him. Thank you all for my new Aga range cooker hob!' Joan, March '22

Deep clean and upgrade service suitable for Aga range cookers
We deep cleaned the front, stripped down the lids & doors, and made sure that they were properly insulated as we rebuilt them with new liners.

Maybe next, copper internal liners.. why not?!

Psst! The badge is there, we remove it digitally after all our hard work, it is a trademark after all!

Katy Boys

Katy is a rural girl at heart. She loves long walks, home cooking, paddling in rivers, warm fires and socks and stomping in leaves with her children. After studying ‘drawing stuff’ at university in Bath, Katy spent 10 years selling wares and managing folk at Habitat in Bath. Welcoming children into her world prompted her to return to drawing things, people and places from home. This led her to us at Blake & Bull and the rest is history. She draws our stuff, provides cuddles for the office dog, and is here to chat to you lovely lot.
