Roasted sprouts with bacon and chestnuts for your Christmas with the range cooker

Use your roasting oven to prepare these roasted sprouts with bacon and chestnuts. Prepare 1 hour in advance of the Christmas dinner, don't freeze! Serves 4


  • 1lb (450g) sprouts
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 oz (110g) streaky bacon
  • 4 oz (110g) peeled and prepared chestnuts 

Line the small shallow roasting tin with Bake o Glide.

Trim and prepare the sprouts, snip the bacon into small pieces.

Pile into the roasting tin with the olive oil, bacon and chestnuts, shaking to coat everything in the oil.

Hang the tin from the second set of runners and roast for 8 – 10 minutes, season and serve.
