This is a power flue gas cooker that Philip re-enamelled completely on Wednesday. It was 'British Racing Green' and finished up 'Dark Pewter'. Its a very dark grey that in these pictures is probably indistinguishable from black. In real life though it has a softer tone that I love. The top is still black as it's harder wearing and more acid resistant than any colour. A little more info is included with each pic as usual!
Here is the inevitable 'before' pic! Power flues have an electrically powered fan to assist the combustion gases in their mission to leave your kitchen! It's housed between the lids in the shroud you can see but there are numerous power supplies and the like that take up more room - they live in the raised shrouds behind the lids. You'll notice none of these pics shows the badge - it has been digitally removed as it's a trademark not owned by us.
The naked cooker! You can see the electronics panel propped out of the way to the rear - we don't need to mess with any electronic or gas parts to do this job amazingly!
The newly re-enamelled front is back on and the vermiculite is in!
This shows Phil's working environment very well I think. The hose to the right is coming in the window from the 'Big Brute' vacuum that lives in the van!
A thick final layer of mineral wool insulation and we are ready for the hobs and lids!
And here it is, dark pewter and black. Looking very smart I think!
Everything is replaced that is visible bar the hot and simmering plates. We even use proper enamel towel rail brackets in place of the painted aluminium ones that were there before.
