At Blake & Bull, we can change the colour of your beloved range cooker and give it an efficiency boost at the same time through an insulation upgrade or a conversion. Every enamel part is renewed, from doors to flue shrouds!
This week is quite an exciting one in the Blake & Bull workshop...
Just two weeks ago I photographed these tired fronts leaving Blake & Bull HQ. Cast iron is a remarkable material and once given a new coat of vitreous enamel it will last for years and years...
What is so exciting is that two customers have chosen some knockout colours, and when the new enamel arrives, it is like Christmas in the workshop, opening the packaging to reveal the gems inside.
This is the new Terracotta colour chosen for a Classic 2 oven.
What a POP of colour against the shiny black enamel, that is bound to make you smile as you lift them to put the kettle on for your morning cuppa!
Every last nook, cranny, and original detailing looks like new. We re-enamelin exactly the same way as it was done originally. The first step is to 'shot blast' the parts. This removes the old enamel and restores the cast iron parts to a newborn state. The age of your current cooker is irrelevant, we can turn it around and give it a new lease of life! Cast iron truly is a remarkable material!
And we have been treated to the second aubergine re-enamel of this year, the colour in the picture here is the lighter of the two purple hues on offer.
I cannot wait to see these in situ! Meanwhile more enamel, retired from it's old location, was despatched today from Blake & Bull HQ ready for our 2019 jobs! Busy busy....
