Occasionally we are called on to rejuvenate just the enamel tops and lids of Aga range cookers, @dillydawdle was "thrilled" with the result after Philipre-insulated and revivedher beloved range cooker.
I love this set up, with the angled units, and those tiles set off the deep blue (most similar to our northern counties blue) beautifully.
The Aluminium lid liners (seen here) are inherently soft, when they are scrubbedto remove residue it will always leave some marks. One way to prevent this staining is with a splash shield, but if yours are ready for a refresh new liners are easy to fit and you can give your insulation a boost too! Win Win. We always re-furbish your lids when we carry out a re-enamel, call us to chatthrough your needs.
The lids are the most important area to think about when updating your insulation.Your lids block heat from leaving your hotplate and simmering plate. If you leave the lids up you only need to feel how intense the radiated heat is to realise how much energy is contained in them and how important it is to conserve this energy for when you need it.
This before and after of shot of Andrea's cooker insulation shows how much more efficient our modern top layer insulation is. By covering every bit of available space, fitting in every crevice, it ensures that the minimum amount of precious heat is lost from your cooker.
Thank you @dillydawdle for sharing your lovely home with us!
