Expert Energy Saving Tips for your Everhot Cooker
Harnessing the full potential of your Everhot cooker means you’ll be able to maximise energy efficiency and save money on your everyday costs.
Let's explore how you can optimise your Everhot's features to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint.
Understanding Warm-Up Cycles
Everhot cookers are renowned for their quick warm-up times. This feature is not just about convenience; it's a cornerstone of energy-efficient cooking. Their unique Oven Delay Timer setting means you can schedule when the ovens and hot plates warm up.
The standard Everhot warm up times are a three-hour delay between the hot plates warming up in the morning and the ovens heating up, but the Oven Delay Timer means you can delay the oven heating up to 12 hours - should you only need to use this in the evenings.
By planning your cooking activities to coincide with these warm-up periods, you can make the most of the energy used. Consider preparing multiple dishes in one go or using the residual heat for slow-cooking after the initial warm-up, minimising the need for re-heating and saving energy.
Independent Control Mastery
One of the standout features of modern Everhot cookers is the ability to control each oven and hotplate independently. This allows for precise energy use tailored to your cooking needs. If you're only cooking a small meal, there's no need to heat the entire appliance.
Switch on just the oven or hotplate you need, and you'll see a noticeable difference in your energy consumption.
Smart Grilling
The grill in the top oven of your Everhot comes with its own set of controls, making it a perfect tool for energy-conscious cooks. Grilling requires less energy compared to baking or roasting and offers a quick way to cook or finish off dishes.
Use the grill for toasting, browning, or adding a crispy top to your meals, keeping the rest of your cooker on standby.
The 'ECO' Function
Everhot's 'ECO' function is designed for those times when your cooker doesn't need to be at full operational heat.
Activating 'ECO' mode reduces the cooker's temperature, conserving energy without letting it go cold. It's ideal for overnight or warmer periods of the year, ensuring your Everhot is energy-efficient even when not in active use.
The programmable ECO mode is a standout, dialing down temperatures when full heat isn't needed, saving approximately 20% of energy. Utilising the ECO function means you can get some of the lowest running costs around - as low as £18 a week - far lower than other range cooker models.
Everhot ‘Eco’ Function: How Does it Work?
Your Everhot arrives with optimal temperature settings: 220°C for the top oven, 100°C for the bottom oven, 290°C for the hot plate, and 200°C for the simmer plate. The ECO mode takes care of the rest, halving these temperatures overnight for significant savings.
Here's a glance at the weekly power consumption across the Everhot range when utilising ECO mode overnight. We have also included the estimated weekly running cost based on the April 2024 UK energy price cap electricity unit price of 24.50p per kWh.

Navigating Everhot's ECO Mode
You can set the 'ECO' mode to kick in automatically, much like you would with a central heating system, ensuring your Everhot seamlessly transitions between energy-saving and normal cooking modes. There are three settings on your Everhot ECO Mode:
- Off:Your Everhot hums along at its normal cooking temperatures, ready for whatever culinary project you have in mind.
- On:The cooker switches to 'ECO' mode, maintaining lower temperatures for energy efficiency.
- Auto (Timed): Set your Everhot to automatically switch between normal and 'ECO' temperatures based on your schedule, programmed right into the control box.
What's "normal" cooking temperature? That's up to you. Both the oven and hotplate temperatures can be adjusted in 5-degree increments to match your cooking style.
And 'ECO' temperatures? Also your call. While the 'ECO' mode caps at lower maximums to save energy, you have the flexibility to set them to your preference, balancing energy savings with the warmth you desire in your kitchen.
