Proper cast iron cooking from Blake & Bull

Every Blake & Bull reimagined Aga range cooker comes with history as standard. We use only cast iron parts made to the higher standards of days past in the, now sadly closed, Coalbrookdale foundry. Those parts shot blasted back to a 'like new' condition. Exterior castings, the front for example, are then enamelled in exactly the same way as when they were new. Proper vitreous enamel in 57 colours, or maybe your own!

The cast iron in a Blake & Bull reimagined Aga range cooker has a past and stories to tell. Melting cast iron to recycle it is tremendously energy intensive, far better to reuse for their original purpose. True sustainability.

Why does food cooked in an Aga range cooker taste better? It's the heavy cast iron ovens.
Conventional ovens are boxes of hot air, usually with a fan forcing it to circulate. Aga range cookers cook with radiant heat from the hot castings. This is gentler and simply creates better flavours. This is why you can cook in an Aga range cooker with the oven door open in theory (in practice you lose heat and waste energy!).
