This is a busy week for the Blake & Bull engineers, with 3 Full Re-Enamelsin the diary and a pick up too! The workshop is quiet above my head, after yesterdays hustle and bustle as the van was loaded up for today's work.
On Monday, Philip swapped the red on this 4 oven, post '95 cooker for a very elegant and solid Graphite grey.
Here, Philip, sucks out all the tired vermiculite insulation, I think that this must be the most satisfying of task! The last thing that our client needs is this debris blowing around the house, so we work cleanand employ Big Brute to eat it up, he even sits outside when he does it, if space allows!
If you think that you might need a vermiculite top up, then our tips page on 'How to top up your Aga range cooker's insulation using our DIY kit', is a great place to start. This is a great job to schedule in for Spring/Summer when you are ready to turn off your Aga range cooker. I have noticed that the nights are getting lighter, have you? Not long now.. :-)
I love the little note left here by the installation engineer, such a happy little motif. Just as carpenters would mark their work by scribing their name in pencil, this adds to the history of this machine.
Part of what we do is recognise that your ovens have history, sometimes family history as they are passed from mother to daughter, or son of course!, for the family home. Not to be cast away, but restored and renewed.
This is Bruna, a very handsome Columba Spaniel, dutifully posing for Philip's 'after' shot. This is the Graphite Grey, one of 38 colours. Grey is such a solid colour, a tone that implies 'industry' and 'hard work', so a perfect choice for such a workhorse of the home. Seen here with our 'Pro textiles Set', NOW IN THE SALE, they too 'work hard' so are a good match here.
