Beef Gravy

Description:

Don’t let all of those delicious roast beef juices go to waste. Savour every last drop with a gravy that’s easier to make than you think!

You'll need...

Ingredients:

  • All but 2 tbsp of fat from the roast beef
  • 2 tbsp flour 
  • 1 pint (550ml)  stock
  • 1 spoonful of wine (optional)  
  • 1 spoonful of Dijon mustard
  • Method:

    1. Pour off all but  2 tbsp of the fat from your beef joint roasting tin.

    2. Stir in 2 tbsp flour, then blend in the stock - maybe adding in a spoonful of wine - and then the Dijon mustard.

    3. Stir well then put the tin onto the floor of the roasting oven for 5 minutes.

    4. Stir and return to the oven for 5 more minutes and the gravy will be boiling and thickened, ready to stir and serve.

    Aga Range Cooker Tips:

    • Use the floor of the roasting over on your range cooker.
