Position : Experienced Engineer | Aga range cookers

We are a family company focussed on Aga range cookers, gates & railings, and homewares. We convert Aga range cookers to electric, restore & re-enamel them, plus install those we have reconditioned. Due to our love of metal and skills within the firm we also sell gates & railings, planters, trellis, gates & railings across the south west. We have a skilled team of blacksmith, welders and fitters. We have 8 electrical Aga range cooker installation technicians.
We are a fast growing company at the top of the market and need a confident and outgoing technician with the right attitude to join our team for the long term! We are looking for someone who likes doing good work and who wants to be part of a team who all enjoy their jobs!
Responsibilities & duties…
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working with Aga range cooker installations, refurbishment, selling, and converting to the ‘Electrikit’ is desirable.
The ideal candidate must have an up to date OFTEC and GASAFE qualification {please get in touch if you have one, not the other}
On a weekly basis you will be responsible for completing 2 - 3 jobs in clients’ homes in the South West. {Dorset, Gloucestershire, BANES, Bristol, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Wiltshire}
Your diary will be carefully coordinated by a skilled operations team, who will book in work and work closely with you. You will need to be personable, and have impressive customer service skills. We are seeking to offer the best service. We are not looking for volume; spending time with the customer, problem solving and return custom motivates us.
You will be supplied with a 3 years or younger fully stocked VW transporter for work use.
You will work closely with our skilled workshop team who take care of all the preparation work, ordering or stock, and processing of our heritage Aga range cooker collection.
You will be responsible for managing your van, a very nice VW transporter! Maintaining your own PPE stock levels, parts and equipment will be a part of your role.
We work hard to maintain a work / life balance for our technicians, but some flexibility for warranty work and removals {occasional} is essential.
You will lead and guide our trainees, sharing knowledge as you work!
You will be a keen team player, and be motivated to take ownership of each and every job allocated - taking it to fruition within Blake & Bull’s best practices.
We are looking for someone who will add to the business and be fully ‘on board’ with the brand and the friendly business that we have built!
The applicant must have :
- 5+ years experience in refurbishing, restoring & fitting Aga range cookers
- We are looking for a full time colleague, looking for a long term employment - PAYE
- Must be willing to stay away when required {with notice and with paid accommodation} - occasional
- Must be proactive, motivated when working alone, have experience of managing own workflow. Will be someone who wants to get the job done, to a high standard with the customer and deadline in mind
- A good team worker, and happy to share the load
- UK work permit
- Clean UK Drivers licence
- Ability to talk to customers and build trust
- Experience installing the ‘Electrikit’ system - can be taught!
- Confident use of hand tools to include : grinders, pneumatic drill, compressor etc
- Live within a reasonable commute of BA15 postcode - working at HQ will be expected
- Discretion, confidentiality and loyalty are valued character assets.
- Uniform is provided - we expect a clean and professional appearance at all times

Salary - variable & negotiable depending on experience - we are looking for the right fit and skills for the job!
