Peeling yourself from your bed as your alarm for work goes off for the first time after Christmas break, might be that bit easier if you know that you are returning home to a meal in the fridge(this one gets better after a days rest after cooking).

Cooking it in a pan that is adaptable and shifts easily from hob top to oven, then to the fridge might just make you feel deservedly smug too!  

 

Serious Baked Beans, a recipe from one of Sarah Whitaker's excellent cookbooks.

This recipe is really adaptable too! Make it vegan with a delicious smoky olive oil and paprika, or vegetarian with parmesan cheese for saltiness. You can use leftovers from the family roast too! Let us know how you twist it!

Katy is a rural girl at heart. She loves long walks, home cooking, paddling in rivers, warm fires and socks and stomping in leaves with her children. After studying ‘drawing stuff’ at university in Bath, Katy spent 10 years selling wares and managing folk at Habitat in Bath. Welcoming children into her world prompted her to return to drawing things, people and places from home. This led her to us at Blake & Bull and the rest is history. She draws our stuff, provides cuddles for the office dog, and is here to chat to you lovely lot.
