Our Clean & Upgrade technician Peter was invited to get this Standard Aga range cooker 'festive season' ready in December.
It is a privilege to clean these cookers, especially when invited as part of a house move. For a small amount of time we become part of the joy of the move and get to see the big smiles as the new owners 'take ownership' of their revived cooker. I carried out an Insulation upgrade and a thorough deep clean (as is always the case, hinge blocks are the trickiest!} Now this one is ready for its next chapter. ' Peter
Hinges can be grub catchers! Here is a satisfying before and after, with the masters {Peter} thumb print recorded - we do not digitally edit the after pics! But we did clean these off as part of the final buff I promise you!
Top Tip - Keep a soft toothbrush to hand, dipped in a little vegetable oil and used regularly this can help lift and loosen debris. Buff and remove oil with a soft cotton cloth. This kind of buildup however needs a little more TLC!
Equally satisfying is the impact that the new lid and door liner upgrade can have, lined with plump airy modern insulation of course. Insulation is a buzz word for 2022 and rightfully so! It is something that we have been belligerently banging on about for years. It simply is the best way to improve heat retention and performance.
The after reveal..
The position of this cooker is really practical, worktop surrounds it, making serving and plating up super easy! This model is gas, but somehow the flue does not dominate here. Having more flexibility with your kitchen design is key, and that is so much easier when the Aga range cooker is electric of course! New and converted models alike can vent in the room, making it so much easier to achieve this look.
This Standard model has a basic GAS conversion, and the client is booked in for a Blake & Bull electric conversion this spring.
